March Vegetable Gardening

Hi, it's been a short absense, so here we go with an update:

Planted a packet of Yates salad mix of lettuce. The days are still warm which is nice and I'm trying to catch this warm weather for germinating these seeds. But unfortunately the first frosts will be around the corner. Just hope it's a big corner. So before I sowed these seeds of lettuce, I weeded yesterday the section of the patch and then this morning dig and turned it over. Now watering. Done.

The broad climbing beans and potatoes plants have all died back. Potatoes I will leave in the ground ready when needed for harvesting. The beans, gee, have dried up so I'll wait a little longer and gather a bag of seeds for next season. The first batch of radish has seeded but not yet dry, so I'm waiting for them to to dry to collect. Possibly in the coming weeks. The pumpkins have really grown and have spread throughout the area about the vegy patch. That's why I force them outside. Brocolli, turnip, and cos lettuce are growing very well. The broocolli and turnip are about a foot high. We pick a cos lettuce every day to eat in the kitchen. That's why I have a vegetable garden! See photos below::::

The bed of dead potatoe plants. Ready for the taking.

The Climbing Beans just about gone. See the dry pods of beans, for seeds.

Pumpkins growing outside the patch, more room!
