Transplanting

Hi

This morning I separated and transplanted the following into a new area of the patch:

1. 51 x Brocolli plants
2. 24 x Turnip plants
3. 79 x Cos Lettuce plants

I weeded first the area of concern and then simply put them in, gave a water and then pissed off. See below pictures (before and after):-

About 7am this morning

About 9am this morning

In other news, the Atomic Red Carrot seeds that I sowed some time back (22/1) never come up, so they are dead. But the other Purple Dragon Carrots are doing fine. Picked some cherry Tomatoes and another Zuchini. Noticed the first batch of Radishes are starting to seed, so I'll leave them in to collect the seeds once they go dry.

See picture below of my beautiful Basil. Smells great!

Also the Roma Tomatoes are growing well, just not ready. But there is a shit load of them just on one plant I have, see pic below.

Have a good week! Steve the VegyGardener.

February '13 Vegetables

I have returned from a day at the fire shed (new one - building it - plasterboard) and have watered the vegy patch. So while doing that, I decided to take afew shots with the iphone. See below pictures.

Anyway, the seeds that I thought were washed away with last weekends thunderstorm have grown like crazy and weren't washed away at all. They stood their ground and are now growing nicely. See last picture below. Picked another two young yet nice sized Zuchini's and a good health batch of beans (1st off). Cucumber is growing crazy too, yet no fruit. But have noticed afew 5 cent sized cucumbers. Pumpkins have taken off and I have directed them to grow outside the vegy patch, basically to keep the patch half clear. Basil is a plenty. Corriander is starting to flower and will eventually seed. Purple Carrots (1st batch) are growing well, yet still too small to harvest.

All the best till next time. S.
